Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) are evidence-based approaches that can be helpful across a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including trauma.
CBT focuses on understanding and changing unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour, while ACT helps develop psychological flexibility, the ability to make space for difficult thoughts and feelings without allowing them to take over, so that you can continue to move towards what matters most to you.
Helen offers one-to-one therapy for people carrying more than they let on: stress, trauma, big life changes, or the particular weight of menopause and perimenopause.
Using CBT and ACT, she helps people learn to live around the struggle, not in it building the skills to hold difficult thoughts and feelings without being ruled by them, drawing on over 20 years’ clinical experience.
